Sometimes (though she rarely admitted it), Natalya needed someone who was not Ivan to talk to. Sometimes, that person was Lithuania, though if she ever admitted it to Lithuania both of them would know that there was a whole lot more wrong than there ever should be with her. In the past, it might have occasionally have been Alfred, despite his general tendency to be highly irritating, but he was firmly an enemy at the moment, so there wouldn't be any randomly talking to him. Before she'd come to Ivan's house, it would occasionally just be a random soldier, because she knew neither of them would even suggest to have had a conversation like that in the morning. But perhaps the best person for the job (and therefore the person she'd go to either absolutely first or absolutely last, depending on the issue) was her sister. Iryna.
It wasn't really for that reason, of course, that the two of them had decided to meet up and just talk, or at least, Natalya would not admit that was why that it had happened. It had been a combination of things, really. Natalya had been not home more often than home lately, and that meant she hadn't talked to her sister in a while. She suspected Iryna was worried about her, which was something that Natalya needed to fix as soon as possible. She disliked it when her siblings were worried about her. Natalya also enjoyed talking with Iryna when they had time. THey had two very different personalities, true, with Natalya's cold shell and Iryna's tendency to wear her heart on her sleeve, but they were sisters who understood each other, and that was enough.
So, since both Natalya and Iryna had been home, a meeting was set. Natalya walked down the halls. She'd set their conversation to be somewhere in Iryna's room, not in her own. No one was allowed in Natalya's room, not even Ivan, though she suspected Ivan went into it despite that. It was too private and quiet. Natalya wasn't about to go into Iryna's room without permission, though. She was going to wait outside the door, just in case she wasn't allowed in. She normally was when she wanted to talk, though. Iryna was just so much more of an open person than her, and some part of Natalya even admired her for that. She certainly loved her for that, at least. At last she reached her sister's door. She smiled.
With a slight not-actually-smile, but something a little soft, she knocked on Iryna's door. "Iryna. I am here," she said, and then she waited. She wasn't going to have to wait long. Yes. This was nice. Sometimes, Natalya needed to talk to somebody, somebody at all that wasn't her brother and wasn't going to judge her (even if Iryna was almost certainly going to mother her a little bit more than Natalya wanted her to). For that, the best person was her sister. And that hadn't changed.
For all the things that had changed, after all, they were siblings, and they'd always love each other. Always.
